e-commerce portal – Sales Tax registration and office address

I plan to start an ecommerce portal where electronic gadgets accessories would be sold. Business would be started as sole proprietorship.

My question is do I need to register for sales tax/VAT right now even if the total sale is below 1lac in first year.

My second question is that I would be providing the full address on the portal and I wish to know if this has to be a commercial address or a residential address is also legally valid.

    Hi

    It would be good if you register it now as once you are expanding you would require to complete your sales tax and other formaliities.
