How to start to become a tablet pc maker?

I want to make some hardware venture like say, an android iPod touch or a tablet pc like iPad or Notion ink adam. How can i start with? How much should I need to invest? Is there any consultancy who can advice me? what should I do?

    Work out a Business Model. See the Market demand in India at various price points. Estimate the total costs involved in manufacturing. See if any royalties are payable.
